  • Great Compline

    Monday, March 23rd, 6:30 PM

Great Compline is a solemn evening service of repentance and reflection, calling us to turn our hearts back to God as we prepare for sleep and entrust ourselves to His care. It is one of the most moving prayers of the Lenten season, filled with the penitential spirit that draws us closer to Christ.

  • The Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos (Eve)

    Tuesday, March 24th

Join us at The Annunciation Monastery in Reddick the evening before The Feast. 13486 NW Hwy 225, Reddick, FL 32686. If you have never been to the monastery, this would be a perfect opportunity. When visiting a monastery there is a dress code that the Sisters ask us to follow. For men, please wear long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes. For women please wear long skirts, long sleeves, head-scarves, and closed-toe shoes. Please be respectful at all times as we enter the community of the Sisters. Also note that His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos will be present as well.

The Akathist Hymn, known as Salutations, is a beloved Friday evening tradition during Great Lent. Through beautiful hymns and poetry, we honor the Panagia - the All-Holy Mother of God - and ask for her prayers and intercession as we journey toward Pascha. Following the Akathist service we have a Lenten Potluck - Bring a Lenten-friendly dish to share as we enjoy fellowship together!
