Plan Your Visit

Visiting St. Mark

Whether you grew up Orthodox or have never set foot in an Orthodox church, you are welcome here. Here's what to expect.

You Are Welcome

We are a community of believers from many walks of life, and we are glad you're considering a visit. There is no need to be Orthodox, and no need to know what to do — simply come and see.

When to Arrive

Sunday worship begins with Orthros (Morning Prayers) at 9:00 AM, followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM. Arriving a few minutes early lets you settle in and receive the opening blessing.

What Happens

Orthodox worship engages all the senses — sung prayer, incense, icons, and candlelight. Much of the service is chanted. Feel free to follow along, sit or stand as you're able, and simply pray with us.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is offered to prepared Orthodox Christians. Everyone, however, is warmly invited to come forward at the end of the Liturgy to receive antidoron — blessed bread — as a sign of fellowship.

What to Wear

Come as you are comfortable, dressed modestly and respectfully. Most of all, come with an open heart.

Children Are Welcome

Families with children of every age are welcome in the church. After the Liturgy, please stay and join us for coffee and fellowship.
